If you’re “Leaving
on a Jet Plane,” as the song goes, you might want to SeatGuru to check out where
your seat is on the aircraft and see how that seat rates for comfort and
convenience. The type of plane on which you
are flying may be on your ticket, or you can call your airline for this
information.
At SeatGuru you can search
particular flights, and you can browse by airline to find the type of plane you’ll
be using. The site provides a map of
each plane indicating which seats are good, bad, or rate special comments. If you bring the cursor over the plane map
you will see comments such as “proximity to lavatory may be bothersome,” or “This
seat has some extra leg and knee room.”
The plane maps also indicate where galleys, lavatories, closets, and
emergency exits are located.
SeatGuru
also has a Comparison Charts section where you can find seat widths, whether
wi-fi is available, and what sort of power is available for laptops, along with
other useful information.
